The Hollywood Reporter

The next Wonder Woman movie has relocated to a new date.

Wonder Woman 1984 will now open June 5, 2020, the same corridor in which the first movie debuted in 2017. The sequel previously was set to open Nov. 1, 2019. Star Gal Gadot tweeted the news Monday.

We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer, so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did,” Warners president of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein said in a statement moments after Gadot tweeted. “This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.

The sequel reunites Gadot with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and co-star Chris Pine, with Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig joining the franchise in the follow-up. Wonder Woman, groundbreaking in featuring a female superhero, grossed more than $412 million in North America and $821.8 million globally.

In a twinned move, Warner Bros. also announced that it is taking Six Billion Dollar Man off its release calendar for now. The pic had been set to open on the date now occupied by Wonder Woman 1984. Mark Wahlberg is attached to star in the long-awaited film adaptation of the classic TV show, although Warners — which picked up the project from the now-defunct Weinstein Co. — has yet to announce a director.

Relocating Wonder Woman 1984 means that it won’t open mere weeks after Warners launches Todd Phillips’ supervillain pic Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, on Oct. 4, 2019.

In its new date, Jenkins’ sequel will go up against Universal’s action-thriller Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson and opening a week later on June 12, 2020. Disney also has an untitled Pixar animation title set for June 5, 2020.

Months after it was announced that Wonder Woman would be coming to a new episode of The Simpsons, Gal Gadot finally made her debut on the animated series in Sunday’s season premiere, “Bart’s Not Dead.

The new episode tells the story of Bart Simpson, who has a near-death experience after suffering a tragic fall. While in the hospital, Bart decides to mess with people by telling them that he went to heaven and “saw Jesus” while he was out. The prank turned into something much more when everyone started to genuinely believe him.

A local phenomenon turned into a major religious film company optioning the rights to Bart’s story. This is where Gal Gadot comes into play.

Homer is attending auditions for the Bart movie and when it’s time for actresses to read for the part of Lisa, Gal Gadot is sitting in the chair. Flanders tells her that she gets the part before she even says her lines. Homer is more skeptical. He notes that he liked her in Fast & Furious, but isn’t sure what else she has been in.

When Gal asks Homer if he’s seen Wonder Woman, he throws some serious shade at the DC movies.

“Everytime I see that DC logo on the screen, I immediately fall asleep,” Homer says.

Later on in the episode, we get the chance to see Gadot in her full Lisa costume in the movie, which is titled “Bart’s Not Dead.

Early on Sunday, nearly 12 hours before the episode aired, Gadot shared the first look at her character in the Lisa outfit, celebrating the premiere.

This family was a huge part of my childhood,Gadot wrote in a tweet. “And now it’s so cool that I get to be a part of the Simpsons‘ Season 30 premiere episode.”

There hasn’t been any word from Gadot or FOX as to whether or not she is slated to appear in future episodes.

The ‘Wonder Woman’ star is in negotiations for Fox’s follow-up to ‘Murder on the Orient Express.’

Gal Gadot has snagged a ticket for a murderous Nile cruise.

The Wonder Woman actress is in negotiations to star in Death on the Nile, Fox’s follow up to surprise hit Murder on the Orient Express.

Kenneth Branagh, who directed the adaptation of the Agatha Christie whodunit classic, is returning as director and is expected to reprise his role as master detective Hercule Poirot.

Death on the Nile, first published in 1937, saw the detective on a vacation in Egypt and becoming involved in a love triangle gone murderously bad. The novel, like Orient Express, once again featured socialites, social climbers and high society’s help in the cast of suspects.

If a deal makes (and source says the talks are in a sensitive stage), Gadot would play socialite Linnet Doyle, recently married to the former fiance of a past friend.

Lois Chiles, who played Bond girl Holly Goodhead in Moonraker, played the part in the 1978 movie.

Gadot is currently shooting Wonder Woman 1984.
