At a press conference that took place on January 15, China’s best-known recruitment platform, BOSS Zhipin, announced its newest spokespersons: Israeli actress Gal Gadot and Chinese actress Liu Tao. The actresses also received the position of chiefs of happiness for workers.

The company’s marketing director, Chen Xu, said Gal Gadot and Liu Tao are very inspiring professionals, as both are “self-confident, persistent and full of passion.” According to BOSS Zhipin, Gal Gadot had the courage to break up with you and tell everyone, through her personal experience, that when she encounters difficulties, she does not give up easily. “It is because of the persistence and hard work that she has created, today, a different Wonder Woman.

Chen Xu said these three characteristics are the epitome of a new generation of professionals and why the company chose Gal Gadot as one of its spokespersons. The company hopes that, through this partnership with Gal Gadot, young people will choose their preferred work partners, as “happy work, happy life”.

With its product line set to grow this year, Smartwater is partnering with “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot and producing more types of ads than ever as part of a media investment that amounts to the largest marketing campaign in the Coca-Cola-owned brand’s history.

Handled by Anomaly New York, the brand’s exhaustive advertising efforts will largely be centered around its expanding offerings, with four new flavored water varieties set to roll out in 2020: Cucumber Lime, Strawberry Blackberry, Pineapple Kiwi and Watermelon Mint.

“This is the biggest year for Smartwater since the launch,” says Celina Li, VP of Water for Coca-Cola North America.

Founded in 1996, Smartwater long offered just one product: its classic, unflavored premium still water. But since 2015, the brand has debuted sparkling, flavored, and alkaline and antioxidant-infused variants in a trend that follows the beverage industry’s recent innovative streak.

“Consumers are drinking more water, but are also demanding more from their water,” Li says, noting a sales boom for “functional” beverages.

To promote the brand’s four new fruity, zero-calorie flavors, which are inspired by the “essence” of spa water, Smartwater will release a 30-second ad starring Gadot, who is now acting as “the face of the brand,” Li says.

In the spot, which was also cut into a 15-second version, Gadot’s only reprieve from a hectic street scene is to take a sip of Pineapple Kiwi Smartwater. “Take a moment … to be in the moment,” she says, slowing time as she drinks.

“We are really thrilled to partner with [Gadot]. She has taken a ‘Smartwater approach’ to her well-being, and she is a great partner to bring our brand to life,” Li added, saying Gadot will appear in various marketing materials throughout the year.

We have added over 150 photos to the gallery of Gal, including the recent Gucci Bamboo Launch Party, some Magazine Scans, plus some candids of Gal out and about, here.

Bamboo isn’t exactly the first thing that springs to mind when one thinks about perfume. It’s a plant that doesn’t emit much of a scent, and certainly not one that embodies the spirit of a label as bold—and in the case of newly minted creative director Alessandro Michele, eccentric—as Gucci. If you take a step back, however, and think about bamboo as a design element, the handles of the house’s signature leather shopper quickly come into view. And if you delve deeper into symbolism, the perennial plant makes perfect sense: It flourishes in almost every climate, is tough enough to withstand hurricane-force winds, and possesses a natural strength comparable to steel. Bamboo is the ideal representation of the Gucci woman. She’s willing to bend, but never breaks; she’s confident enough to march to the beat of her own drum, but still willing to adapt; and she always comes out on top no matter how hard the blow. Hence, the reason the brand named its newest eau after the rather elegant vegetation. “The main question we really concentrated on when developing Gucci Bamboo was ‘What does bamboo look like in the world of Gucci?’ It’s not the green, leafy, grassy stuff that I think some people immediately associate it with,” said P&G Prestige fragrance expert Lewis Peacock. Rich notes like sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla, Casablanca lily, orange blossom, and ylang-ylang were employed to relay a message of sensuality and empowerment.

And who better to personify such a multifaceted perfume than Gal Gadot, the Israeli actress who recently landed the role of Amazonian superhero Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. She’s also a veteran of the Fast & Furious series, even going so far as to demand that director Justin Lin give her stunts on par with those of her male costars: “I went to Justin, and I was half-joking, but I told him, ‘Listen, if you want me in Fast 6, you better give me some stunts to do!’ And it happened.” Gadot is undoubtedly a woman on a mission who knows how to get the job done and jump seamlessly from a moving motorbike to a speeding Jeep—the toughest stunt she said she’s performed to date. The former model and Miss Israel isn’t your average pageant girl either. She’s a self-proclaimed tomboy who trained soldiers of the opposite sex in the Israeli army; drove a Ducati until she became a mom to daughter Alma (“It’s a whole different ball game—you’ll see,” she told me); paddleboards on the regular; and counts CrossFit and TRX among her go-to workouts. And yes, she has mastered the muscle-up. The only thing, it seems, that she struggles with is nailing the perfect cat-eye: “I’m still trying to figure out how to put on eyeliner properly—I’m still working on that.” She does, however, have her skincare routine down pat, relying on a steady supply of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, La Mer The Cleansing Oil, and a bespoke moisturizer crafted by a one-named wonder in her home country known simply as Giselle.

In the video campaign directed by Fabien Baron and lensed by Mert & Marcus, Gadot’s skills are put to the test yet again. Her 12 years as a dancer pay off as she moves effortlessly across a ballroom floor. Her military service came in handy when asked to wield a fencing sword, though she admits she handed that job over to a professional after performing a low lunge in heels and leather pants proved to be quite the challenge. And she even plays the piano naked (as one does when your core is toned from finding your balance on a board in the middle of the ocean). “I’m very open-minded to all genres, but I really want to portray a strong, independent woman,” said Gadot of her dream role. “When you go to the movies, [it’s always] the heartbroken girl who’s waiting to be saved by a guy. In real life, that’s not the way it is!” Fast-forward to being the face of Gucci Bamboo and Wonder Woman, and the actress appears to have it all. Asked if her daughter has a favorite superhero, Gadot replied, “If Elsa from Frozen is a superhero, then yes.” This mom might not be able to manipulate snow and ice, but she’s got no shortage of power. And as far as wardrobe is concerned, let’s just say Queen Elsa didn’t rule her world wearing Gucci.
